How to check active session in Oracle database

Hello friends, in this article we are going to discuss how to find the details currently active user session with details in Oracle Database.

Find Active session

To finding active session in oracle, we need to connect with sys user and run the below query using v$session view.

select sid,serial#,username,osuser,machine,program,module from v$session where status='ACTIVE'

Columns Description:

sid – Session identifier
serial# – Session serial number
username – Database user name
osuser – Operating system client user name
machine – Operating system machine name
program – Operating system program name
module – Name of the currently executing module as set by calling the DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.SET_MODULE procedure
